I don’t like this!
I thought I had it figured out, my period. I knew when to prepare for it. I knew the day she would arrive (thank you period app). Around the age 43 is when I began to notice the change. Initially it was a heavy period, the second day was the heaviest. The third day was the end and the fourth day was for residuals, the aftermath, the if I was involved in any extra physical activities. Yup, I had it figured out.
Last month December 2023. My period damn near destroyed me. No energy, a dry mouth, inactive on everything. My doctor concluded that it was stress and that I’m having symptoms of perimenopause. She told me to take a vitamin and exercise. No stress. A few days after that visit I felt like my old self again and then another week later whew! I called her again.
My doctor told me to schedule an appointment with my OBGYN. I have not done that yet. I did however, started taking notes of my symptoms; random hot surges, waking up sweaty, and random buzzing in my ear when I lay down.
Was this menopause? Because all of these symptoms indicate menopause, but nothing has PAUSED!!! I thought your period had to stop in menopause.
